Three Named To Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Team

MADISON, Wis.
--Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2021 NCAA Division III Academic All-District® Six Women’s Soccer Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
 
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Kati Frierdich, along with UW-Whitewater’s Anna Boyd and Katy Kusswurm were selected to the 12-member team that includes student-athletes from Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
 
Frierdich, a junior forward, is majoring in elementary education and owns a 3.78 grade point average. She is the Pointers’ second Academic All-District® selection in the last three seasons.
 
A senior midfielder, Boyd secured the distinction for the third straight season. She is majoring in elementary education and sustains a 3.96 grade point average. Kusswurm, a senior defender, maintains a 3.91 grade point average and is majoring in biology. She received the honor for the third consecutive year.
 
All three individuals are eligible for the Academic All-America® team that will be announced on Dec. 8.
 
To be eligible for the Academic All-District® and All-America® award, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, must be starters or key reserves who have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests at the position listed on the nomination form and must have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
