UW-Whitewater's Gramer and UW-Eau Claire's Kabe Named WIAC Kwik Trip Men's Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Donny Gramer and UW-Eau Claire's Quincy Kabe have been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Men's Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 11 - 17.

Gramer (Fr., Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) enjoyed a strong UW-Whitewater debut on Oct. 16, placing first the 100-yard freestyle and helping a pair of relays to wins against Illinois Tech at the Williams Center Pool. His time of 50.16 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle was nearly seven-tenths faster than the runner-up. Gramer anchored the Warhawks’ 200-yard medley relay to first place by nearly four seconds, and he led off the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 22.57 seconds, which would have won the open 50-yard freestyle. He missed out on his personal best times in the 50 free by two-tenths of a second and the 100 free by six-tenths of a second.

In a 174-37 dual meet victory against UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 16, Kabe (So., Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) won both one-meter and three-meter diving competitions. He secured the one-meter with a scores of 260.90 and three-meter with a 270.85.
