WHITEWATER, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater senior offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz has been invited to participate in the 96th East-West Shrine Bowl™ and the National Football League Players Association Collegiate Bowl in 2021.

Both bowl games, which feature the top collegiate prospects for the NFL, are canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will instead be invited to take part in virtual training/informational drills with current NFL coaches and members of the NFL Operations staff.

A native of Hartford, Wis. (Hartford Union High School), Meinerz was selected as a consensus All-American in 2019 after helping the Warhawks win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship and finish as national runners-up. He garnered first team accolades from the Associated Press and the American Football Coaches Association and second team honors from D3football.com. Meinerz was also first team D3football.com All-West Region and first team All-WIAC, and was named the team's Most Valuable Player.

Prior to the 2020 season, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Meinerz was tabbed first team Preseason All-America by D3football.com, Street & Smith and Lindy's Sports.

In October, Meinerz was named a semifinalist for the 2020 William V. Campbell Trophy® Presented by Mazda, which recognizes the top scholar-athlete in the nation at all levels of college football. In November, he accepted an invitation to play in The College Gridiron Showcase, which is scheduled for Jan. 17-21 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Meinerz was a two-year captain and two-time all-conference and all-region selection during his career. He was a two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
