Scott Dobertstein was named the WIAC Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officials in January 2020. Doberstein brings 35 years of collegiate officiating experience to the position having officiated women’s basketball at the NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III levels.
He has received numerous NCAA postseason assignments, including the NCAA Division III Final Four in 2005 and 2007, seven WNIT Tournaments and 13 WIAC championship contests. Doberstein officiated games in the WIAC for 23 years, as well as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. His NCAA Division I resume includes games with the Big East Conference, Big Ten Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Horizon League, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Ohio Valley Conference and Summit League.
Doberstein is a highly sought after camp clinician and has authored 26 articles on officiating for Referee Magazine.
Doberstein is a teaching professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at UW-La Crosse. He received a bachelor of science degree in athletic training and school health education from UW-La Crosse and a master of science in exercise science from Eastern Illinois University. Doberstein resides in La Crosse, Wis.
