University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will aim for a fifth straight first-place finish at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Gymnastics Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional (presented by Culver’s) on March 8. The 51st gathering of conference schools will be hosted by UW-La Crosse at Mitchell Hall.
 
The Titans collected the 18th conference title in program archives last season with a score of 192.875, while UW-Whitewater was second with 192.275, UW-La Crosse third with 192.175, UW-Stout fourth with 190.775, Winona State University (Minn.) fifth with 188.125, UW-Eau Claire sixth with 187.050, Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) seventh with 186.300 and Hamline University (Minn.) eighth with 183.350.
 
UW-La Crosse owns a league-high 24 conference titles, while UW-Whitewater has five and UW-Stout one. Former member UW-Madison secured two.
 
The conference meet will also serve as the West Region qualifier for the NCGA championship that will be held March 22 and hosted by Gustavus Adolphus. This year’s conference championship will consist of two sessions with the first beginning at 12:30 p.m., and include Winona State, UW-Eau Claire, Simpson, Gustavus Adolphus and Hamline. The second session will feature UW-Whitewater, UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout, and start at 6:00 p.m.
 
The top-six finishers in each event receive All-Conference designation.
 
This year’s event features gymnasts that have claimed individual titles at previous conference championships, including UW-Oshkosh’s Delaney Cienkus (2023/balance beam); UW-Stout’s Effie Ferguson (2024/balance beam); and UW-Whitewater’s Kelsey Kellhoff (2023/floor exercise).
 
The WIAC Honor Roll from this season includes the top-three scores – in the vault: UW-Oshkosh’s Averie Evans (9.850); Winona State’s Kennedy O’Connor (9.825) and UW-La Crosse’s Jessica Taylor (9.825); and Simpson’s Kaelyn Tally (9.800) and UW-La Crosse’s Paige Breckwoldt (9.800).
 
In the uneven parallel bars: UW-Stout’s Emma Brittingham (9.825); UW-Oshkosh’s Amaya McConkay (9.800) and Reanna McGibboney (9.800), and UW-Whitewater’s Ariana Goodwin (9.800); and UW-Oshkosh’s Zoe Krull (9.775).
 
In the balance beam: UW-La Crosse’s Raina Christenson (9.850); UW-Oshkosh’s Delaney Cienkus (9.825) and Lydia Hayden (9.825); and UW-Eau Claire’s Meghan Dahlin (9.800) and Linnea Vasali (9.800), UW-La Crosse’s Lauren Main (9.800), UW-Oshkosh’s Emma Steele (9.800), and UW-Whitewater’s Chloe Hammond (9.800).
 
In the floor exercise: UW-Whitewater’s Kelsey Kollhoff (9.850) and Carleigh Moore (9.850); Simpson’s Emma Tolbert (9.825), UW-Oshkosh’s Delaney Cienkus (9.825) and Jay Ratkowski (9.825), and UW-Whitewater’s Zoe Jenks-Recker (9.825); and UW-Oshkosh’s Kristina Jakubiak (9.800) and UW-Stout’s Effie Ferguson (9.800).
 
In the all-around: UW-Stout’s Jaime Beatty (38.400); Simpson’s Olivia Hedary (38.050) and Gustavus Adolphus’ Maddox Lee (38.050); and UW-Stout’s Gillian Cummins (38.000).
 
Additional gymnasts from remaining conference teams not mentioned in the top three of the honor roll, but producing strong performances this season include: Hamline’s Julia Cheely and Brianna Weikel; and UW-Eau Claire’s Meghan Dahlin and Madison Daly.
