2025 WIAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Preview

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse will strive for a fifth consecutive title at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship (presented by Culver’s) at UW-Stevens Point’s Skyward Fieldhouse Feb. 28-March 1. This will mark the 48th edition of the women’s championship.
 
The Eagles secured the 30th championship in program archives a year ago with 281.5 points. UW-Oshkosh took second with 94 points, UW-Eau Claire third with 90, UW-Stout fourth with 73, UW-Whitewater fifth with 62, UW-Stevens Point sixth with 32.5, UW-Platteville seventh with 19 and UW-River Falls eighth with 11.
 
UW-Oshkosh ranks second in WIAC history with 13 championships, while UW-Eau Claire has one. Former conference members UW-Milwaukee and UW-Madison collected two and one, respectively.

Competition at this year’s meet will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 28, and 10:00 a.m. on March 1. Medals will be awarded to the top-eight finishers in each of the individual events and the individuals comprising the top-six relay teams.
 
This year’s championship features four teams ranked in the Top 18 of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Track & Field Rating Index distributed on Feb. 25. UW-La Crosse is ranked second, while UW-Eau Claire is eighth, UW-Oshkosh 13th and UW-Stout 18th.
 
Returning champions in individual events include:  UW-La Crosse’s Samantha Barrett (2024/triple jump), Katelyn Chadwick (2024/5,000-meter run), Lauren Jarrett (2024/60-meter dash), Hallie Kent (2023/triple jump), and Macie Todd (2024/high jump); UW-Oshkosh’s Megan Hunt (2024/pentathlon), Cyna Madigan (2024/800-meter run), and Brenna Masloroff (2024/20-pound weight throw); UW-Stevens Point’s Rachel Krouse (2022/5,000-meter run); UW-Stout’s Jenna Driscoll (2024/long jump), Mckayla Felton (2023/3,000-meter run; 2024/3,000-meter run), and Hannah Zastrow (2024/60-meter hurdles); and UW-Whitewater’s Gracie Holland (2022/pole vault; 2023/pole vault).
 
Jarrett was selected the Kwik Trip Track Performer of the Meet a year ago, while Hunt received Kwik Trip Field Performer of the Meet honors.
 
Individuals that have claimed first-place relay medals at previous championships include:  UW-La Crosse’s Sarah Grubbs (2024/4x400-meter relay), Morgan Jennings (2023/4x400-meter relay; 2024/4x400-meter relay), and Anna Plautz (2024/4x400-meter relay); UW-Oshkosh’s Cyna Madigan (2022/distance medley relay); and UW-Whitewater’s Ari De La Cerda (2023/distance medley relay; 2024/distance medley relay), Katie Erb (2023/distance medley relay; 2024/distance medley relay), and Brynn Fuerstenberg (2024/distance medley relay).
 
Individuals from remaining conference programs ranking high on this year’s WIAC Honor Roll include:  UW-Eau Claire’s Kayla Behnke (shot put and 20-pound weight throw), Laura Bertrang (high jump) and Emilee Booker (60-meter hurdles, 400-meter dash, pentathlon); UW-Platteville’s Hailey Campbell (high jump), Brenna Noon (shot put and 20-pount weight throw) and Isabel Peterson (200-meter dash); and UW-River Falls’ Annika Gunderson (pole vault) and Brenna Schwartz (triple jump).
