2025 WIAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship Preview University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will seek second consecutive first-place finish at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship (presented by Culver’s) that will be held at Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis., Feb. 19-22. UW-Eau Claire is the host institution for the 62nd gathering of the men’s teams that will be held in conjunction with the 53rd edition of the women’s championship. Competition begins on Feb. 19 at 1:45 p.m., with the preliminaries of the women’s three-meter diving. The finals will start at 6:30 p.m., and include a pair of relay events. For competition held Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, preliminaries will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the finals commencing at 6:30 p.m. The final day will feature 10:00 a.m. preliminaries and a 5:45 p.m. start for the finals. Medals will be awarded to the top-eight finishers in each of the individual events and the individuals comprising the top-three relay teams. In 2024, the Blugolds captured the 26th WIAC championship in program archives – and first since 1999 – with 877 points to surpass UW-Stevens Point’s second-place total of 814.50 points. UW-La Crosse was third with 722.50 points, UW-Whitewater fourth with 467 and UW-Oshkosh fifth with 235. UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point lead the conference with 26 titles apiece, while UW-La Crosse has four. Former programs UW-Platteville and UW-Milwaukee claimed one and four championships, respectively. Returning champions in individual events include: UW-Eau Claire’s Kadin Denner (2023/500-yard freestyle, 1,650-yard freestyle, and 400-yard individual medley; 2024/500-yard freestyle, 1,650-yard freestyle, and 400-yard individual medley), Ben Keller (2022/400-yard individual medley; 2023/200-yard individual medley; 2024/200-yard individual medley); Ian Olson (2023/200-yard breaststroke), Zhander Rowley (2024/100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke), Evan Schroeder (2023/200-yard freestyle), and Blake Wallen (2024/one-meter diving); UW-La Crosse’s Blake Nelson (2024/50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle); and UW-Whitewater’s Dom Schlueter (2023/100-yard freestyle; 2024/200-yard freestyle). Denner was selected the WIAC Swimmer of the Year in 2023 and 2024, while Schlueter claimed Newcomer of the Year honors in 2023.
