2025 WIAC Women’s Cross Country Championship Preview University of Wisconsin-La Crosse will strive for a fifth consecutive first-place finish at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Cross Country Championship (presented by Culver’s). The 47th version of the conference meet will be hosted by UW-Oshkosh at XC Ranch at Moore’s Field of Dreams in Oshkosh, Wis., on Nov. 1. The women’s race will begin at 1:00 p.m. UW-La Crosse secured the 13th conference title in program archives a year ago with 37 points to surpass UW-Stout’s second-place total of 68 points. UW-Eau Claire took third with 79 points, UW-Whitewater fourth with 94, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 94, UW-Platteville sixth with 179, UW-River Falls seventh with 189 and UW-Stevens Point eighth with 214. UW-Oshkosh leads WIAC schools with 16 titles, while UW-Eau Claire has 11 and UW-Stevens Point two. Former members Marquette University and UW-Madison collected three and one, respectively. Two teams are ranked among the best in NCAA Division III based on Oct. 22 rankings distributed by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. UW-La Crosse is sixth, while UW-Eau Claire is 23rd. Returning runners that secured All-WIAC recognition in 2024 include: UW-Eau Claire’s Keeley Behr (sixth) and Molly Heidorn (13th); UW-La Crosse’s Mallory Reiser (11th), Brooklyn Luebke (12th) and Lucy Duchac (15th); and UW-Whitewater’s Payton Scoggin (16th), Renee Forystek (18th) and Ella Hansen (20th). Behr (ninth) added all-conference accolades at the 2023 championship and was joined by UW-Oshkosh’s Josie Makurat (19th) and UW-Whitewater’s Katie Erb (16th). In 2022, Scoggin (19th) and Behr (20th) landed on the all-conference team. Additional runners leading their teams this fall include: UW-Platteville’s Megan Hageman, UW-River Falls’ Adison Wilde, UW-Stevens Point’s Faith Wehrman, and UW-Stout’s Claudia Lasiowski. The top seven runners in the 6,000-meter race will receive All-WIAC first team recognition, while runners placing eighth through 14th earn All-WIAC second team accolades. Individuals finishing 15th through 20th claim honorable mention status. # # # # #
