2020-21 WIAC Kwik Trip Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week


Week of Feb. 22 - 28
Luke Geiger, Senior (Burlington, Wis./Burlington), Guard of UW-Stout
Geiger scored a season-high 20 points in 93-90 overtime win over UW-Whitewater on Feb. 24, then did that better two days later, scoring a team-high 25 points as the Blue Devils completed a sweep of UW-Whitewater with an 87-80 win on Feb. 26. In the first game, Geiger scored 11 of his 20 points in the second half of regulation, then scored the opening basket of overtime to put UW-Stout ahead. With the score tied at 88, Geiger pulled down a rebound that seconds later led to Armani Tinsley’s go-ahead 3-pointer. Geiger was 6-of-13 from the field with a 3-pointer and went 7-of-9 from the line. He had nine rebounds. In the rematch, Geiger scored eight points, two 3-pointers and a lay-up, in the first five minutes of the game and scored 12 points in the first half. In the second half, Geiger hit a 3-pointer with 1:22 remaining to break an 80-80 tie, grabbed a rebound with 30 seconds remaining and hit two free throws with nine seconds left to seal the game. On the night, Geiger was 9-of-14 with three 3-pointers and was 4-for-4 from the line. He had five rebounds and four steals. For the week, Geiger was 15-of-27 (.555) from the floor, 4-of-9 (.444) from 3-point range, 11-of-13 (846) from the line, had 14 rebounds and five steals.

Week of Feb. 15 - 21
Ethan Anderson, Junior (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls), Guard of UW-La Crosse
Anderson averaged 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in two UW-La Crosse victories over UW-Stout. He finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while going eight-of-eight at the free throw line in an 84-62 win on Feb. 17. Anderson then had a career-high 31 points with seven rebounds in a 92-75 victory on Feb. 19, while finishing eight-of-nine at the line. Anderson's 31 points are the most for a UW-La Crosse player since Skylar Cameron totaled 31 against Carthage College (Wis.) on November 22, 2014. Anderson shot 50.0 percent (16-of-32) from the field in the two games and 94.1 percent (16-of-17) at the free throw line.

Week of Feb. 8 - 14
Philip Flory, Junior (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Oshkosh North), Forward of UW-Stevens Point
Flory continued to lead the Pointers during games against UW-Platteville. He led all scorers in both contests with the Pioneers scoring 27 and 23 points, respectively.  He leads the WIAC in scoring at 25.3 points per game. Flory has also been perfect from the line, going 13-for-13 during the week and has made all 27 attempts this season, already the seventh-longest streak in program history. For the week, Flory grabbed 13 rebounds and added seven assists, while making five three-pointers.

Week of Feb. 1 - 7
Justin Stovall, Senior (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young), Forward of UW-Platteville
In two games against UW-Oshkosh, Stovall averaged 21.0 points per contest and 9.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 81.0 percent from the field (17-for-21). In a 88-75 victory on Feb. 3, he tallied his first double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting 90.0 percent (9-for-10) from the field. Stovall added seven blocks and three assists in the two games against the Titans.
