University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will aim for a third consecutive title at the 2019 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Golf Championship (presented by Culver’s). The 24th version of the league event will be hosted by UW-Stevens Point and determined over 54 holes at Reedsburg Country Club in Reedsburg, Wis., Oct. 4-6. A shotgun start will commence at noon on Oct. 4, while flighted tee times will begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 5-6.
 
This marks the fourth consecutive year the course has hosted the conference meet. The team winner will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be conducted May 12-15, 2020 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
 
The Warhawks’ title a year ago was the fourth in program archives. They secured the crown with 942 strokes to surpass UW-Stout’s second-place total of 954 strokes. UW-Oshkosh finished third with 960 strokes, while UW-River Falls was fourth with 1,003, UW-Eau Claire fifth with 1,019, UW-Stevens Point sixth with 1,069, UW-La Crosse seventh with 1,081 and UW-Platteville eighth with 1,086.
 
UW-Eau Claire possesses a league-high nine first-place finishes, while UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater each own four, and UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout have three apiece.
 
UW-Whitewater’s 2019 lineup features four individuals average below 80 strokes per round, including Ashton Sinak with a conference-best 76.4 stroke average. She broke the program’s 18-hole scoring record and tied the program’s 36-hole scoring record at the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Invitational with scores of 72 and 75.
 
The Warhawks’ Kelly Stori, who owns 77.1 stroke average, secured medalist honors at the Carthage College (Wis.) Battle on the Border. CheyAnn Knudsen has a 77.9 stroke average and is the reigning conference Player of the Year. She claimed medalist honors at the 2017 WIAC championship. Ashley Hofmeister maintains a 77.5 stroke average and was named the league’s Player of the Year in 2017, and captured medalist recognition at the 2016 championship. Kristin Bowe’s 81.5 stroke average rounds out the UW-Whitewater lineup.
 
UW-Oshkosh’s Hannah Braun has a team-best 77.5 stroke average, while Erika Priebe averages 77.7 strokes per 18 holes. Braun secured medalist honors at last year’s championship, while Priebe was the medalist at this year’s UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic. The Titans lineup will also feature: Margherite Pettenuzzo (82.0), Hannah Rebholz (82.0) and Lauryn Davis (84.6). Nikki Differt (86.5) captured medalist recognition at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational.
 
UW-Stout’s Trystin Kluess boasts a team-best 78.1 stroke average and claimed medalist recognition at the UW-Stout Fall Invitational. Madison McCambridge received medalist recognition at the Carthage College (Wis.) Battle on the Border and owns a 79.3 stroke average. Kendra Swanson (82.4), Alexa Filipiak (82.9) and Klairissa O’Reilly-Dye (83.1) compose the remainder of the Blue Devils lineup.
 
UW-La Crosse’s Maija Tranberg secured medalist honors at the UW-La Crosse/Viterbo University (Wis.) Invitational and maintains a team-best 80.8 stroke average.
 
Additional WIAC regulars averaging rounds below 90 this fall include: UW-Eau Claire’s Megan Glaeser (83.0), Jessica Rudnicki (83.7), Anna Uzpen (84.1) and Abbie Ter Maat (87.4); UW-Oshkosh’s Dianna Scheibe (86.2); UW-Platteville’s Markie Ash (81.8), Cortney Olson (86.5) and Alysse Elko (86.8); UW-River Falls’ Danielle Dewitt (86.9), Sydney Hufnagle (88.7) and Paige Isensee (89.0); and UW-Stevens Point’s Brooke Tuszka (89.1).
