UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater Fall In NCAA Baseball Regionals

MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater had their seasons come to an end in the regional round of the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.
 
Competing in Decatur, Ill., UW-La Crosse opened with a 7-2 victory over the host institution Millikin University (Ill.) on May 16. The Eagles followed with a 5-4 loss to Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) and a 7-6 setback against Wartburg College (Iowa) on May 16. UW-La Crosse completed the 2026 campaign with a 33-14 record and made their fourth straight NCAA appearance - and 10th overall.
 
Competing at their home field, UW-Whitewater began its NCAA action with a 13-4 triumph over Macalester College (Minn.) on May 15. The Warhawks fell 8-7 against Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.), but rebounded with a thrilling 9-8 win over Macalester on May 16. Against Bethany Lutheran on May 17, the Warhawks were eliminated after an 8-7 setback in 11 innings. UW-Whitewater finished the season with a 43-6 record, including a 28-0 mark in conference games. They made their 27th NCAA appearance and put together a conference-record 36-game winning streak. The Warhawks won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles for the third straight year.
