Women's Lacrosse 4/19/2026 6:37:13 PM Colorado College Wins Third Straight Women’s Lacrosse Championship **Colorado College Sports Information contribued to this recap RIVER FALLS, Wis.--Colorado College secured at least a share of its third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s lacrosse championship with a 13-12 overtime victory over UW-River Falls at Ramer Field on April 19. Colorado College (12-3 overall, 7-0 WIAC) can claim the title outright with a win over UW-Eau Claire (7-3, 5-1) on April 25. UW-Eau Claire and UW-River Falls (13-3, 6-1) can earn a share of the championship with wins in their remaining games and a loss by Colorado College. Oliv Janerico scored with one second remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime and Charlotte Iler scored a free-position goal 1:39 into the extra frame to give Colorado College the win. With the Tigers trailing 12-11, UW-River Falls was assessed a two-minute yellow card with 21 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Colorado College’s Elsa Greene had her free-position shot blocked and after a scramble for the ball, Iler sent a centering pass from the right wing to Janerico, who beat the Falcons goalie from right in front at the buzzer. Janerico scored with 17 seconds left in regulation on April 16 to force overtime in a 15-14 victory over the University of Chicago (Ill.). The Falcons gained the draw control to begin overtime, but Sofia Mancino forced a turnover, and after UW-River Falls' was given a yellow card, Iler buried the free-position shot to give Colorado College a 7-0 record in WIAC play and at least a share of the conference's regular-season title. The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Mancino, Greene and Iler and held that advantage after the first period. UW-River Falls rallied to outscore Colorado College, 7-1, in the second period to take a 7-4 halftime lead, but the Tigers responded with five goals in the third period and the score was even at 9-all entering the fourth quarter. The Falcons' Murphi Specht scored three minutes into the final frame for a 10-9 lead, but Iler and Grace Bean scored within two minutes of each other to give Colorado College an 11-10 advantage with eight minutes remaining. Samantha Hayek scored for UW-River Falls with 6:31 and 3:31 remaining for a 12-11 UW-River Falls lead, setting up Janerico's last-second heroics. Iler led all players with four goals and seven points, while Bean added three goals and Greene and Maddie Jenks each had two. Hayek and Elizabeth Clough each had a team-high three goals for River Falls. Iler is now fourth on Colorado College's career list with 163 goals and sixth with 223 points. Cassidy Schnaufer made five saves for the Tigers, while Rommeck had six for UW-River Falls. Colorado College held a 31-26 advantage in total shots and 15-12 in shots on goal. # # # # #
