Student-Athlete Spotlight: Cameron Jochimsen, UW-Stevens Point

Each week during the 2025-26 academic year, the WIAC will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a “Student-Athlete Spotlight” Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday and individuals are selected by the institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver's.

Name:  Cameron Jochimsen

Hometown and High School: Freedom, Wis. (Freedom High School)

Why did you choose UW- Stevens Point
I am a transfer student, and I saw the opportunity to become a Pointer when UWSP decided to add the Men’s Soccer program to the school. I knew this institution would be cheaper and I would be able to continue playing.

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
This is one of the best conferences in the world for Division III and very competitive. Everyone has the opportunity to beat one another, which makes this conference interesting but fun. Being a Division III athlete means I am still playing the game I love and allows me to focus on academics.
