MEN'S BASKETBALL Logan Pearson, Senior (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly), Forward of UW-Platteville Pearson averaged 28.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game as the Pioneers win streak reached 12 games behind wins over No. 14-ranked UW-La Crosse and UW-Oshkosh. He opened the week with 25 points on 9-of-20 shooting, while dishing out five assists in an 83-75 win over the Eagles, before posting 31 points and seven rebounds on 10-of-17 from the floor in a 79-64 home victory against the Titans. Pearson was nearly perfect from the line in the two games, going 15-of-16, and he shot just over 50 percent on the week (19-of-37). (Lakes Community) WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Kayce Vaile, Senior (Greendale, Wis./Greendale), Forward of UW-Oshkosh In UW-Oshkosh’s wins over UW-Eau Claire and UW-Platteville during the week, Vaile averaged 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, shooting 64.5 percent from the field (11-of-17) and 70 percent (7-of-10) from the line. She went 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-3 from the line with four rebounds and two steals in a 67-53 victory over the Blugolds on Jan. 8, and 6-of-9 from the field and 4-of-7 with 10 rebounds and a block in a 60-44 triumph over the Pioneers on Jan. 11. (Whitewater) WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS Specialist Delaney Cienkus, Senior (Plainfield, Ill./North), of UW-Oshkosh Cienkus took first in two events as the Titans scored 194.150 points against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) in their home opener on Jan. 10. UW-Oshkosh’s team score was the second highest in program history and a home meet record. Cienkus won the balance beam outright and tied with fellow Titan Jay Ratkowski for first in the floor exercise, scoring 9.825 points on both events. (Eden Prairie) All-Around Maddox Lee, Junior (Hugo, Minn./Lakes International Language Academy), of Gustavus Adolphus College Lee once again led the Gusties in the all-around competition, as she totaled a 38.050, the fifth-highest all-around total in program history. Lee’s winning performance against UW-Oshkosh featured a 9.450 on vault, a 9.525 on the uneven bars, a 9.550 on the balance beam, and a 9.575 on floor exercise. Her season-debut on vault helped the Golden Gusties shatter the program record in the event, totaling a 47.650. Also nominated: UW-Stout, Gillian Cummins, Senior, Farmington, Mo. (South) MEN’S ICE HOCKEY Nicholas Pigeon, Sophomore (Gatineau, Quebec/Blyth Academy), Forward of UW-Stout Pigeon led the Blue Devils to a pair of non-conference wins during the week. He tallied three goals and an assist on eight shots, while winning 16 faceoffs. Pigeon scored a goal in the second period in a 5-1 win over Augsburg University (Minn.). In a 6-3 victory over Concordia College Moorhead (Minn.), he scored two goals, including the game winner, and added an assist. UW-Superior, Kobe Grant, Sophomore, Goalie, Vernon, British Columbia (South Kamloops Secondary) WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY Kyleigh Moffatt, Junior (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Forward of Northland College Over the week, Moffatt recorded three goals in two games, including her first career multiple-goal game at University of Dubuque (Iowa) on Jan. 10. She scored both goals in the second period to help Northland build a 3-2 advantage. Moffatt scored the team's first short-handed goal of the season. She tallied a team-high eight shots and five blocked shots to end the week. (Farmington) WRESTLING Jalen Dunson, Junior (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest), 125 pounds of UW-Whitewater Dunson won all six bouts in UW-Whitewater's six dual matches at the National Wrestling Coaches Association Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He opened with an 8-7 decision over University of Dubuque's Tyler Klein. He added a 14-2 major decision over Dorian Hoffman (Baldwin Wallace College) before pinning Isaac Ayers of Luther College (Iowa) in just 2:02. In the final bout on Jan. 10, Dunson topped No. 4-ranked Gavin Bradley of Vermont State Castleton by 8-7 decision. On Jan. 11, Dunson opened with a 5-2 decision over No. 13-ranked Matt Griffin of The College of New Jersey.
