In the 41-35 victory, Blaha compiled 426 yards of total offense in just three quarters to become UW-River Falls' all-time leader with 8,234 career yards of total offense. (South) Defense Ben Wellhoefer, Junior (Omro, Wis./Omro), Defensive Back of UW-Oshkosh Wellhoefer was instrumental in the Titans' win over No. 9-ranked Wheaton College (Ill.) on Sept. 7, recording a career-high three tackles (one solo) with one for a loss of two yards, two pass breakups and a game-sealing interception. Both of his breakups immediately preceded Thunder punts. UW-Oshkosh owned a 21-14 lead late in the fourth quarter when Wellhoefer intercepted a pass on the last play of the game, securing the victory. Four of his punts landed within the 20-yard line, including one to the seven which traveled 47 yards, his longest of the day. (Waunakee) MEN’S SOCCER Offense Ethan Dietrich, Junior (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly), Forward of UW-Platteville Dietrich scored two goals and added two assists as the Pioneers picked up road wins over The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) and UW-Superior during the week. He netted UW-Platteville's first goal in a 4-0 triumph over the Saints on Sept. 6, and tacked on an assist later in the second half. Against the Yellowjackets on Sept. 7, Dietrich picked up an assist on the team's first goal of the match on a nice crossing pass before scoring the game-winning goal in the 54th minute of the 2-1 victory. The Warhawks shutout Beloit College (Wis.) (7-0) in the season opener. UW-Whitewater allowed just three shots on goal in a 6-1 win over Rockford University (Ill.) the next day. The Warhawks also had a 1-1 draw against Marian University (Wis.) and 3-2 victory over Cornell College (Iowa). It marked her first career goal. Pauling helped UW-La Crosse's defense record a pair of shutout wins during the week. Along with the victory over Illinois Wesleyan, the Eagles earned a 2-0 win at Dominican University (Ill.) on Sept. 7. The Eagles held their opponents to nine shots on goal in the two contests. While playing at No. 1 singles against UW-Stout, she never surrendered a game with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. During the UW-River Falls contest, Lee played No. 2 singles and defeated Alexis Budzinski 6-1, 6-1 to help the Blugolds complete the two WIAC sweeps on Sept. 7. Student (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), Outside Hitter of UW-Whitewater Jansky led UW-Whitewater to three victories over ranked opponents at the KTIS Classic hosted by University of Northwestern, St. Paul (Minn.). She hit .417 with 50 kills - an average of five kills per set - leading to tournament Most Valuable Player recognition. Jansky tallied 21 kills in a three-set sweep of No. 20-ranked Berry College (Ga.) and 17 in a four-setter against No. 22-ranked Cornell College (Iowa). In a sweep over No. 12-ranked Northwestern, she hit .647 with 12 kills in 17 attempts, while committing just one error.
