All-WIAC Men’s Soccer Team Revealed

MADISON, Wis.
--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its 2024 All-WIAC Men’s Soccer Team that was selected by the league coaches.
 
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Nathan Donovan and UW-Platteville’s Alex Wano were tabbed the Kwik Trip Offensive Player of the Year and Kwik Trip Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Seth Aiken received Kwik Trip Goalkeeper of the Year honors and UW-River Falls’ Landon Christiansen was named the Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year. In addition, UW-River Falls collected Kwik Trip Coaching Staff of the Year recognition.
 
Donovan leads the WIAC with 26 goals, 13 assists and 65 points, as well as 111 shots and 63 shots on goal. He is tied for the conference lead with four game-winning goals. He has recorded five hat-tricks, four matches with seven points and four game-winning goals. Donovan has compiled multiple points in 13 of 18 matches.
 
Wano is tied for sixth in the conference with six goals and tied for ninth with 13 points. He has tallied multiple points in six contests, including a pair of game-winning goals.
 
Aiken has posted a 9-1-2 record and owns a WIAC-best .602 goals against average, .794 save percentage, seven shutouts and nine victories. He has posted a shutout in four of UW-Platteville’s last five matches.
 
Christiansen is second in the conference with 12 goals and 30 points, and tied for sixth with six assists. A newcomer is defined as a student-athlete who used his first season of participation in men's soccer this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn’t participate in men’s soccer at their previous institution.
 
Coaching Staff of the Year distinction was presented to UW-River Falls after placing third in the WIAC standings and earning a spot in the semifinals of the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver’s). This is the program’s inaugural season. The coaching staff includes head coach Evan Sassano and assistant coaches Chris Bailey, Bret Day, Naushad Godrej and Adolfo Gonzalez.
 
An All-Sportsmanship Team was announced for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each team as selected by that team.
