UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater Fall In NCAA Softball Regional Finals

MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater were eliminated from the NCAA Division III Softball Championship after advancing to regional final action on May 20.
 
Competing in the Oshkosh Regional, UW-Oshkosh was eliminated following a 1-0 loss to Concordia University (Wis.). The Titans opened regional competition with a 5-4 triumph over Luther College (Iowa), but dropped a 9-1 decision to Concordia in their following game. UW-Oshkosh beat Luther 6-2 to advance to the regional final. The Titans completed the 2023 campaign with a 36-9 record. The 36 wins matched a program record that was set in 2007. UW-Oshkosh made its 10th NCAA appearance and hosted regional games for the first time in program history.
 
Participating in the Whitewater Regional, UW-Whitewater posted a 2-1 victory over Transylvania University (Ky) and 3-2 triumph over Coe College (Iowa) in its first two games to earn a spot in the regional final against Coe. Coe emerged with wins of 13-4 and 3-2 to secure the regional crown. The Warhawks finished the 2023 season with a 28-13 record and appeared in the NCAA tournament for the 23rd time in program archives. UW-Whitewater also won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular-season title for the 15th time.
 
UW-La Crosse also represented the WIAC in NCAA regional action and competed in the Pella, Iowa Regional. The Eagles dropped a 2-0 decision to Bethel University (Minn.) in their opening game and were eliminated following a 6-4 loss to Grinnell College (Iowa). UW-La Crosse posted a 28-15 mark this season and won the WIAC tournament crown for the fourth time in program history. The Eagles made their seventh NCAA appearance.
