Student-Athlete Spotlight: Aidan Shore, UW-Stout

Each week during the 2022-23 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a “Student-Athlete Spotlight” Q & A segment. Why did you choose UW-Stout?
I choose to come to Stout because of two major reasons, the coaching staff and the culture of the system.
 
What other clubs/organizations on campus are you involved in?
The only organization I am apart of is men’s basketball.
 
What causes do you care about?
Youth basketball, I believe its important to teach kids fundamentals early.

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
My favorite part of the WIAC must be my competition. There are a ton of skilled centers in this league, and I enjoy the challenge.

What is your greatest sports moment? 
I was part of two GLIAC titles at my time at Ferris State University (Mich.). Winning conference is a truly unmatched experience.
 
What is your favorite thing to do off the court/field with your teammates?
We play a good amount of euchre, especially on bus rides.

Resilient.

Prepared.
 
What is your dream job? 
I would love to be my own boss.
 
Three things on your "bucket list"?
---Sky diving.
---Visit Europe.
---Learn to drive stick shift.
 
A non-athletic talent that you have is?
I can change a smoke detector without a ladder.

Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they?
This is more routine than superstition, but I always take 10-15 stretch by myself before I even pick up a basketball. As to why…I just think it’s important to properly warmup.
