UW-River Falls' Hilley and UW-Oshkosh's Fregein Named WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-River Falls' Sami Hilley and UW-Oshkosh's Abby Fregein have been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 24 - 30.

Hilley (Jr., MB, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) led the Falcons to a pair of 3-0 victories during the week over St. Olaf College (Minn.) and UW-Platteville, conceding just one error with 26 kills for a .641 hitting percentage. She averaged 4.33 kills per set, along with nine total blocks and four service aces, helping UW-River Falls clinch a spot in the WIAC Tournament.
 
Fregien (So., L, Waukesha, Wis./West) had another strong defensive week for the No. 12-ranked Titans, recording at least 12 digs in every match of the week. She recorded 17 against Ripon College (Wis.), 22 against UW-Stout, 14 against Carroll Univ. (Wis.) and 12 against Wisconsin Lutheran College. In addition to her defense, she added six service aces, three against both UW-Stout and Wisconsin Lutheran. She was a key part of the Titans’ 25-9 second set win over Wisconsin Lutheran on Oct. 29. Two of her service aces against the Warriors came in an 8-0 run in the second set to make the score 12-3.
