In addition, UW-Whitewater’s Chloe Buescher received Newcomer of the Year recognition, while Stacy Boudreau was tabbed the Coach of the Year. Gehl, a three-time All-WIAC first team selection, is the second Pointer to receive the offensive player of the year award, joining Alexis Hartman (2014). Gehl leads the conference with 573 kills (4.78 per set) and 5.28 points per set, while ranking ninth with 3.56 digs per set and a .244 hitting percentage. She has amassed at least 20 kills in 10 matches, including a season-high 33 twice. Her 33-kill, 30-dig performance at UW-Whitewater on Nov. 1, was the first-ever 30-30 double-double in program history. She also had 96 kill attempts in the match, which established a WIAC record. Gehl owns the program career record with 1,798 kills – a mark that ranks fourth on the conference’s all-time chart. Cannon secured a spot on the all-defensive team for the third straight year and tops the league with 5.91 digs per set. She recorded at least 20 digs in 23 of 30 matches, including a season-best 39 at UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 9 and Concordia University (Wis.) on Oct. 26. The Warhawks compiled a 15-match winning streak earlier this season. She secured the coaching recognition for the second time in her career (2007).
