UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater Set NCAA Attendance Record
MADISON, Wis.--The football game between No. 5-ranked University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and No. 2-ranked UW-Whitewater at Perkins Stadium on Oct. 8, established an NCAA Division III single-game attendance record with a crowd of 17,535.
The figure broke the previous mark of 17,327 when the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) visited Saint John’s University (Minn.) on Sept. 26, 2015, according to research by D3football.com.
The Warhawks emerged with a 17-14 victory over the Titans when Drew Patterson broke away from three tacklers and raced 16 yards for the game-winning score with 55 seconds remaining.
