MADISON, Wis.
--For the second straight season, three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams have received bids into the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.  University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater secured two of the 16 available at-large bids into the 56-team field, while UW-Stevens Point received an automatic bid after winning the WIAC tournament title.

UW-La Crosse (28-12) and UW-Whitewater (33-9) will compete in an eight-team, double-elimination regional hosted by UW-La Crosse at Copeland Park May 13-17.  The Eagles are making their fourth NCAA appearance and will open regional action against College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) (32-11).  The Warhawks are the defending national champions and own 18 NCAA appearances, including a second national crown in 2005.  UW-Whitewater will meet Ripon College (Wis.) (23-14) in its first game.  Also competing in the regional will be Washington University (Mo.) (33-14), Concordia University-Chicago (Ill.) (30-13), St. John’s University (Minn.) (26-14) and Coe College (Iowa) (31-12).

UW-Stevens Point (31-12) will travel to Waterloo, Iowa, for its regional competition beginning May 13 hosted by Wartburg College (Iowa).  The Pointers have made 16 appearances in NCAA action and will square off against Greenville College (Ill.) (22-19) in their opening contest.  Also participating in the regional will be Anderson University (Ind.) (31-11), Carthage College (Wis.) (28-13), Webster University (Mo.) (30-13) and Wartburg (32-12).

This marks the ninth straight season the conference has sent multiple teams into the national field.

The 2015 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship consists of four six-team regionals and four eight-team regionals. All regionals are double-elimination and the winners of the eight regionals will qualify for the double-elimination championship at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis. on May 22-26/27.
