MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Jill Entinger and UW-Oshkosh’s Katelyn Malcheski have been tabbed Co-Offensive Players of the Year, while UW-Oshkosh’s Mandy Trautmann was selected the Defensive Player of the Year to top the individuals chosen to the 2015 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Volleyball Team by the league coaches. In addition, Eagles head coach Lily Hallock was selected the Coach of the Year.
Entinger is the third individual in program history to receive the honor, joining Angela Muenkel (1999) and Laura Wagner (2004). She was an honorable mention selection a year ago and leads the conference with a .358 hitting percentage, while ranking fourth with 3.53 points per set and .87 blocks per set. Her 2.89 kills per set place her seventh. Entinger has reached double-digits in kills in 16 of 27 matches, including a season-high 19 against Bethel University (Minn.) on Oct. 16. She has posted at least six blocks in four matches.
Malcheski is the third Titan to win the award, joining Christina Southward (2001) and Jacque Ray (2009). She claimed first team recognition for the third straight season after earning honorable mention status in 2012. Malcheski is second in the WIAC with 3.19 kills per set and fifth with 3.49 points per set. She has accumulated double-digits in kills in 25 of 33 matches, including a season-best 22 against University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Oct. 17.
Trautmann earned All-Defensive Team honors for the third straight year and all-conference first team recognition for the second consecutive season. She leads the WIAC with 5.47 digs per set and has accumulated at least 21 digs in 16 of 31 matches, including a season-high 35 against Illinois Wesleyan University on Oct. 16. Her 2,575 career digs are currently tied for second on the conference’s all-time list.
UW-Whitewater’s Lauren Pfeifer was the lone repeat selection on the first team from the 2014 season.
UW-Stevens Point’s Hannah Picel was named to the four-member All-Defensive Team for the fourth straight year to become the first four-time All-Defensive Team honoree in conference history.
Hallock earned the coaching honor after directing the Eagles to a share of the WIAC regular-season championship for the first time since 2003. UW-La Crosse owns a 19-8 record and has won seven of its last eight matches.
An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
