UW-Oshkosh Leads Women’s Golf Championship
NEKOOSA, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh leads the 2015 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Golf Championship following the first of three days of competition at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course on Oct. 9.
The Titans accumulated 326 strokes on the Pines Course of the 36-hole facility to top UW-Eau Claire’s second-place total of 340 strokes. UW-Whitewater is third with 355 strokes, UW-Platteville fourth with 360, UW-Stout fifth with 363, UW-Stevens Point sixth with 397 and UW-River Falls seventh with 414. The team winner will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be conducted May 10-13, 2016, in Houston, Texas.
Individually, UW-Oshkosh’s McKenzie Paul tops the 43-player field with 78 strokes, while UW-Oshkosh’s Laura Stair is second with 79 strokes, UW-Stevens Point’s Tiffany Boak third with 80 and UW-Oshkosh’s Kayla Priebe fourth with 81. UW-Eau Claire’s Meghan Lange and Katy Bolduc are tied for fifth with 83, while UW-Stout’s Rachel Hernandez is seventh with 84 and UW-Platteville’s Stephanie Baribeau eighth with 85. Tied for ninth are UW-Eau Claire’s Katie Moore and Molly Lattery, along with UW-Whitewater’s Kayla Asleson.
The 54-hole championship will resume on Oct. 10 with tee times beginning at 10 a.m. The round will be played on the Lake Arrowhead’s Lakes Course.
