MADISON, Wis.
--University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Cassandra Salmen was chosen the Player of the Year to headline the individuals selected to the inaugural All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Ice Hockey Team, while UW-Stevens Point head coach Ann Ninnemann was tabbed the Coach of the Year.

Salmen leads the conference with 17 goals and five game-winning goals, while ranking fourth with 26 points.  She also has one short-handed tally and produced one of just four hat tricks in the league this year.  Salmen has recorded at least one point in 16 games, including six multi-point performances and a season-high 4 points against St. Olaf College (Minn.) on Nov. 1.

Ninnemann secured the coaching honor after leading the Pointers to a 19-4-4 record, including a 7-2-3 mark in WIAC contests.  The 19 wins are the most since the 2007-08 campaign.  UW-Stevens Point has also earned a spot in the title game of the WIAC Championship.

An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.  It included one member from each school.
