WIAC Announces Broadcast Dates/Times For WIAC Centennial Documentary
MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced today that a documentary commemorating the WIAC Centennial will be broadcast a total of 18 times on FS Wisconsin and/or FS North over the next six weeks. The documentary which is entitled, “The WIAC Centennial: A Celebration of Excellence…Past, Present and for the Future” was produced by PlayOn Sports—Midwest and will have its first airing on October 12 on FS Wisconsin beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Viewers are encouraged to check their local listings and the WIAC website at www.wiacsports.com for additional air dates and times on FS Wisconsin and FS North.
The documentary is a culmination of a two-year celebration of the conference’s founding in July 1913. Other centennial activities included the commissioning of Centennial artwork , the selection of All-Time Teams, the induction of the inaugural WIAC Hall of Fame Class, and the August 4, 2012, WIAC Centennial Celebration Banquet attended by over 1,400 individuals.
“It was our intention from the outset to celebrate this milestone in a manner commensurate with being the most accomplished Division III conference in the history of the NCAA. The documentary and all of the other events and activities conducted over the past two years are reflective of the unique status of the WIAC in the annals of collegiate sports”, commented WIAC Commissioner Gary Karner.
