MADISON, Wis.
--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Anne Satterlee was chosen the Player of the Year to lead the 12 individuals selected to the 2012 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Volleyball Team by the league coaches.  In addition, UW-Stevens Point’s Stacey White claimed the Coach of the Year honor.

Satterlee ranks third in the WIAC with 4.10 points per set, fourth with 3.33 kills per set and sixth with a .272 hitting percentage.  A first team selection for the second straight year, Satterlee produced at least 10 kills in 23 of the 30 matches that she has played during the 2012 campaign, including a season-high 23 against Millikin University (Ill.) on Oct. 19.  She also registered seven double-doubles (kills-digs).

Her selection marks the second straight season - and third overall - that a Blugold has received the conference’s Player of the Year trophy.

Repeat selections on the first team from a year ago included:  UW-Platteville’s Stephanie Kirchner; UW-River Falls’ Erin Green; and UW-Stevens Point’s Morgan Bartkowiak and Alexis Hartman.  Green also collected first team accolades in 2010, while Kirchner and Bartkowiak added honorable mention laurels in 2010.

UW-River Falls’ Courtney Preiner was selected to the four-member All-Defensive Team for the second straight season.

White earned the coaching prize for the second consecutive year after leading the Pointers to their second straight WIAC regular-season championship, a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship and a 29-7 record.  The 29 victories are the most for the program since the 1985 squad had 44.  She is in her 12th year directing the team and owns a 212-198 record.

An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.  It included one member from each school.
