Five Women’s Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Ethics Award
MADISON, Wis.--Five Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s soccer teams have been presented with a Team Ethics Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2011 season.
The award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Superior received a Silver version of the award that is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards. UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater claimed Bronze versions of the award that is presented to teams that receive no reds and a maximum of 10 yellows.
