MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the 2010-11 All-WIAC Men’s Ice Hockey Team that was recently selected by the league coaches. In addition, UW-Eau Claire’s Matt Loen received the Coach of the Year honor.
Repeat selections on the first team from a year ago included UW-River Falls’ Justin Brossman and UW-Stevens Point’s Garret Suter. Suter was also a first team pick in 2009 after receiving honorable mention laurels in 2008. He is just the fifth individual in program history to claim first team honors three straight years.
UW-Stout’s Bobby Kuehl was a first team recipient in 2007 and claimed honorable mention status in 2008 and 2009.
Loen was chosen the Coach of the Year for the second straight season after directing the Blugolds to a 15-11-1 record. The 15 wins were the most for the program since they accumulated 16 during the 1994-95 campaign.
An All-Sportsmanship Team was selected for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
