UW-Whitewater’s Schebler A Finalist For Fred Mitchell Award
MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater senior Jeff Schebler has been named to the Watch List for the 2009 Fred Mitchell Award. The Fred Mitchell Award is given to the nation's top collegiate place-kicker. Schebler is among 18 NCAA Division II and III collegiate place-kickers that were nominated by their Universities for excellence on the football field and in their community.
A native of Davenport, Iowa, Schebler holds the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) career records for field goals made, field goals attempted and extra points made. He owns the NCAA Division III career marks for field goals made, field goals attempted and highest field goal percentage. Schebler is a three-time All-WIAC first team performer (2006, 2007, 2008) and received All-America honors in 2006 and 2007.
Schebler is a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership team, visits with the Hadley School for the Blind in Janesville, Wis., and has been a counselor and mentor at Kohl's Kicking Camp.
