Jill Crandall was a member of UW-River Falls’ women’s track & field team from 2004-07. She was a five-time All-American and secured NCAA Division III Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honors, as well as Midwest Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year distinction from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in 2007. At the 2007 NCAA outdoor championship, she became just the second individual in program history to claim a national title – winning the high jump.

She was an eight-time conference champion (four indoor, four outdoor) – claiming multiple titles in the heptathlon, pentathlon and outdoor high jump. She was selected the conference’s Field Performer of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor season in 2007. Crandall still owns school records in the pentathlon, heptathlon, outdoor high jump and outdoor 4x800-meter relay.

In 2017, Crandall was inducted into the UW-River Falls Hall of Fame. In 2012, she was selected to the WIAC Women’s Track & Field All-Time Team in conjunction with the conference’s Centennial Celebration.

Crandall earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UW-River Falls and master’s degree in business administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

She resides in Roseville, Minn., with her husband Jim Walsh. They have two sons James and Julian.
