Matt Turk was a member of UW-Whitewater’s football team from 1988-90 and earned all-conference recognition in 1988 and 1990 when the Warhawks won conference titles. After originally being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 1993, Turk made his first NFL roster in 1995 with the Washington Redskins. He played 17 seasons in the National Football League with six teams and averaged 42.4 yards per punt for his career. Turk was named to the All-Pro First Team in 1996 and selected to the Pro Bowl in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

Turk appeared in the playoffs five times during his career and was the oldest player in the NFL when he retired. He resides in Missouri City, Texas.
