Dominic Moselle is one of the most decorated individuals in the history of UW-Superior, establishing himself as a student-athlete before embarking on a long career as an administrator, coach, educator and mentor at his alma mater.  Moselle was a football standout at UW-Superior from 1946-49, setting several school rushing records, including: most yards in a game, season and career; touchdowns in a game, season and career; most kickoffs returned for touchdown; longest kickoff return for touchdown; and most points scored.

Moselle was the first player in conference history to be selected in the National Football League Draft – picked by the Cleveland Browns in the 1950 draft.  He won a NFL Championship with the Browns that same year.  Moselle also played for the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.  At UW-Superior, Moselle was a longtime educator in the physical education department, working with students from 1966 until his retirement in 1986.  He had stints as UW-Superior’s men’s basketball coach, men’s track & field coach and baseball coach, as well as serving as assistant football coach.

Moselle was inducted into the UW-Superior Hall of Fame in 1973.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in education.  Moselle passed away in August 2010.
