Ben Hoffmann was a member of UW-Platteville’s men’s basketball team from 1995-98 and is the only player in NCAA Division III men’s basketball history to be a part of two undefeated national championship teams.  The Pioneers accumulated a 108-6 record, including a 61-3 mark in conference play, during his four years.

Hoffmann was a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American, earning first team honors in 1998 and second team recognition in 1997.  In 1998, he also earned All-America third team status from D3hoops.com and was named the Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA Division III Final Four, along with the WIAC Player of the Year.

Hoffmann was a three-time all-conference first team selection and two-time all-region first team honoree.  He finished his career with 1,256 points – a mark that currently ranks 15th in school history.

Hoffmann was inducted into UW-Platteville’s Hall of Fame as an individual in 2013, and as a member of the 1997-98 men’s basketball squad in 2014.  In 2012, he was selected to the WIAC Men’s Basketball All-Time Team in conjunction with the conference’s Centennial Celebration.

Hoffmann earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from UW-Platteville and master’s degree in education from Walden University. He resides in Hartford, Wis.
