Rebecca (Jordahl) Wingenbach was a member of the UW-River Falls women’s track & field and cross country teams from 2006-08 and collected six All-America awards. In track & field, Wingenbach helped the Falcons secure the program’s only NCAA Division III championship in 2008, when they claimed the outdoor title. It was the first women’s national championship in school history in any sport. That same season, she won the 5,000-meter run to become the third outdoor national champion in program archives and placed third in the 10,000-meter run.

Wingenbach finished second in the 5,000-meter run during the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championship. At conference track & field championships during the 2008 campaign, she posted first-place finishes in the indoor 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs, and outdoor 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs.

In cross country, she secured All-America accolades in 2006, 2007 and 2008 by placing 19th, fourth and 14th, respectively at the NCAA Division III championship. Wingenbach received All-Region Awards in 2006, 2007 and 2008, and was tabbed the Midwest Region Athlete of the Year in 2007 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. She won the WIAC title in 2008 – the first Falcon to secure the conference crown.

Wingenbach holds program track & field records in the indoor 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs, and outdoor 3,000-, 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs. In the Falcons cross country record book, she owns the top times on both the 5,000- and 6,000-meter courses.

In 2012, she was selected to the WIAC Women’s Cross Country All-Time Team in conjunction with the conference’s Centennial Celebration. Wingenbach was inducted into the UW-River Falls Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019.

Wingenbach earned an associate of arts degree from Century College (Minn.) and bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science with a minor in health education from UW-River Falls. She resides in Hugo, Minn., with her husband Adam. They have a daughter Delia and son Boston.
