Patti (Franckowiak) Krautscheid was a member of UW-La Crosse’s women’s track & field team from 1996-99 and won three NCAA Division III titles – the 20-pound weight throw at the 1998 and 1999 indoor meet, and discus throw at the 1998 outdoor championship.

She established an NCAA record with her mark of 56 feet, 6 1/2 inches in the 20-pound weight throw at the 1999 NCAA Division III Championship. Krautscheid was a 13-time All-American (four indoor, nine outdoor) and captured seven conference titles, including three consecutive first-place finishes in the discus (1996-98). She helped UW-La Crosse claim the conference indoor championship in 1997 and outdoor titles in 1998 and 1999.

In 1999, she was selected to the NCAA Division III College Division Women’s At-Large Academic All-America First Team.

Krautscheid was inducted into UW-La Crosse’s Wall of Fame in 2013. In 2012, she was selected to the WIAC Women’s Track & Field All-Time Team in conjunction with the conference’s Centennial Celebration.

Krautscheid earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. She resides in Pasco, Wash., with her husband Donny. They have a daughter Hannah and son Grant.
