Loew won the hammer throw as UW-Oshkosh placed third in the team standings at the Phil Esten Challenge on April 20-21 in La Crosse. Loew’s distance of 181-3 was 17 feet better than the second-place finisher. She defeated 36 other competitors, including UW-Superior’s Katie Capriglione who placed second at 164-0. UW-Oshkosh took third in the 13-team meet with 118 points. UW-La Crosse won the team title with 162 points, while Winona State University (Minn.) placed second with 148.
