Cazzola ran one of the fastest miles in NCAA Division III history with her 4:44.73 at the UW-Oshkosh Open on Jan. 25. Cazzola won the race by more than 28 seconds. Teammates McKenzie Kelly (5:13.10) and Sonny Jenkins (5:25.62) followed in second and third place. Cazzola missed the all-time record by less than one second. Missy Buttry of Wartburg College (Iowa) holds the mark at 4:43.92 from 2005, while UW-Oshkosh’s Ayla Mitchell clocked a 4:44.00 during 2009. In the 1,600-meter relay, Cazzola ran a leg to help the Titans place second with a time of 4:11.54. St. Norbert College won that event in 4:07.56. UW-Oshkosh won its eight-team open with 262.5 points. St. Norbert came in second with 136 and Ripon College placed third with 63.5.
