Wara guided UW-Oshkosh’s offense to the end zone on seven of its first 10 possessions as the Titans rolled to a 47-28 victory over Central College (Iowa) on Sept. 1 at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. Wara, who departed from the game with 12:11 left in the third quarter, accounted for six touchdowns himself as he totaled 275 yards passing on 24 completions (34 attempts) and 118 yards rushing on 14 carries. He had touchdown passes of 22 and 13 yards in the first quarter, seven yards in the second and 20 yards in the third. On the ground, Wara rushed for touchdowns of 11 yards in the first quarter and one yard in the second. All seven of Wara’s scoring drives covered at least 47 yards, including marches of 82 yards in the first quarter, 81 and 90 in the second and 83 in the third. The Titans finished the game with 644 yards of offense, including 524 in the first half, and a school-record tying 33 first downs.
