Cazzola won both the 800- and 5,000-meter runs as UW-Oshkosh finished second in the team standings at the UW-Platteville Invitational held April 14. Cazzola took first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.12. Deidre Dillman of UW-Platteville finished second among the event’s 44 contestants with a time of 2:12.93. In the 5,000-meter run, Cazzola posted a winning time of 16:32.26. Her effort, which broke a school record by nearly 10 seconds, ranks as the best in the NCAA Division III this season. Laura Sigmund of Wartburg College (Iowa) placed second among the event’s 29 participants with a time of 16:41.07. Wartburg College won the 11-team meet with 156 points, while UW-Oshkosh finished second with 145 and UW-La Crosse third with 119.5.
