Beres went 3-1 in four games to open the season. She pitched 14.0 innings in the four games, allowing 12 hits, three earned runs and four walks while striking out 13. Beres compiled a 1.50 earned run average. She picked up both wins in UW-La Crosse's doubleheader sweep of Carleton College (Minn.) on Feb. 25. Beres also earned a win over Wartburg College (Iowa) on Feb. 26 with seven strikeouts in 3.0 innings.
