Nelson broke his own school record and won the 5,000-meter run at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational at UW-Whitewater on Feb. 3. He paced the field by nearly 20 seconds, clocking a time of 14-minutes, 20.72-seconds, breaking the facility record. The second-place finisher came in with a time of 14:36.38. Nelson broke the school record of 14:43.73 that he set last March.
