Cazzola outran 384 runners to take first place at the Roy Griak Invitational held Sept. 24 in Falcon Heights, Minn. Cazzola, who finished third at last year’s meet, navigated her way through the 6,000-meter course in a time of 22:06.47. Linda Miller of the University of Minnesota-Morris finished second in a time of 22:16.92, while Simone Childs-Walker of Carleton College (Minn.) placed third in 22:36.72 and Emily Thomas of Lewis & Clark College (Ore.) fourth in 22:42.57. UW-Eau Claire won the 32-team meet with 82 points, while Emory University (Ga.) finished second with 110, Lewis & Clark College third with 114 and Carleton College fourth with 143. UW-Oshkosh finished 12th with 303 points. UW-Eau Claire entered the meet ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, while Emory University was 20th, Lewis & Clark College 18th and Carleton College 22nd. UW-Oshkosh was unranked.
