Ozanich qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in a pair of events twice as UW-Oshkosh competed in a dual meet against the University of Chicago (Ill.) Jan. 15 and an invitational hosted by North Central College (Ill.) Jan. 21. In UW-Oshkosh’s 82-79 victory over the University of Chicago, Ozanich won the 20-pound weight throw, while placing second in the shot put. Ozanich defeated nine opponents in winning the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 62-7 1/4. Teammate Jecel Gerner finished second in the event with a mark of 54-7 1/2. In the shot put, Ozanich finished second to Gerner with a distance of 46-4 3/4. Gerner won the event with toss of 50-5 1/2. Competing at the North Central College Cardinal Opener, Ozanich won the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 63-3 1/2. Her performance defeated 20 other competitors. Mindy Harrington of Carthage College finished second with a mark of 53-6 1/2. In the shot put, Ozanich finished second among 27 participants with a distance of 48-5 1/2. UW-Oshkosh’s Jecel Gerner won the event with a throw of 49-1 3/4. UW-Oshkosh won the six-team North Central College Cardinal Opener with 163.5 points. North Central College finished second with 131 points and Emory University (Ga.) third with 87.
