Women’s Basketball Teams To Support “Causes”

MADISON, Wis.--During the 2018-19 season, the eight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s basketball teams will participate in various promotions to support a “cause”.
 
Each team will be involved in at least one promotional event throughout the season. Activities will take place at each game to raise awareness for the “cause” being supported. Following are the eight WIAC contests that will have the “Playing For A Cause” theme:  UW-Platteville at UW-Eau Claire (Jan. 16) (Shoot For A Cure); UW-Platteville at UW-Stout (Jan. 26) (Amanda Geissler Memorial Fund); UW-Eau Claire at UW-Whitewater (Feb. 2) (Play4Kay); UW-River Falls at UW-La Crosse (Feb. 6) (Play4Kay); UW-Platteville at UW-Oshkosh (Feb. 6) (Pink Game); UW-Oshkosh at UW-Stevens Point (Feb. 9) (Play4Kay); and UW-Eau Claire at UW-River Falls (Feb. 13) (Play4Kay). UW-Platteville held its Pediatric Cancer Awareness game on Dec. 8 against Loras College (Iowa).
